It is approximately one kilometre from the N2 Highway. The self-catering accommodation is about 40 metres from the road adjacent to a canal with lots of guinea fowl roaming there. It is a spacious 55 square metre apartment. DSTV and Netflix are provided. Newly installed wall heaters in each room.
Heidelberg is nestled between the Langeberg Mountains and the Indian Ocean along the Duivenhoks River in the Western Cape. The Doornboom Homestead was built in 1728. The town was established in 1855 around the majestic Dutch Reformed Church. Go on a Historical Walking Route to view historical landmarks. In the area are many trails and day drives for nature lovers. Nearby are the World Heritage sites of Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve and Boosmansbos Wilderness Area.
Grootvadersbosch has various mountain bike trails. Day drives to Tradouw and Garcia Pass are recommended. The Bontebok National Park and Heidelberg Bird Route are excellent for bird lovers. The coastal town of Witsand, about 40km away, is a well known whale watching site. The pont across the Breede River at Malgas is not to be missed. The Heidelberg Wimpy was voted the best in South Africa.

The extra mile walked here is appreciated. The filter coffee, hot chocolate, fresh milk, bottles of water, fresh fruit and flowers and chocolate are much appreciated. Our granddaughter wanted to spend another night.
